Bjarne’s tomatoes & cucumbers

In the village of Stollig, located in the scenic and lush Løjt Land in Aabenraa you will find Stollig Gartneri. The nursery belongs to Bjarne Pedersen, one of Denmark’s smallest producers of the finest tomatoes imaginable. If you have ever been to a market in one of the southern Jutland towns, you may already know Bjarne. He has supplied the local area for 30 years, not only with tomatoes, but also with delicious cucumbers and peppers.

Bjarne delivers fresh produce to Syttende daily. This includes several different tomato varieties that embrace delicate flavour nuances and the full range of colours from green, yellow, orange and red tomatoes. Bjarne usually calls us later in the day to make sure we’re storing the tomatoes properly. Otherwise, they can lose their flavour, aroma and texture. Of course, we do, because when it comes to tomatoes, you had better listen to Bjarne. Because no one knows more about tomatoes than he does.
